How can I tell if a product is a medical device?

If your product doesn’t have a CE or UKCA mark with a number underneath, it’s not a medical device!

If you’re using a product that claims to be a medical device, but you want to be sure you’re getting the full facts, you can check the packaging to see if there’s a CE mark with a number underneath. This mark shows that the product has been independently assessed and certified as a medical device.

It is important to keep your wits about you in today’s menopause market, but that doesn’t mean all brands are trying to pull the wool over your eyes. Our medical devices have been approved by NHS formularies and are available on the UK drugs tariff. YES is recommended by Gynaecologists, Menopause Specialists, Dermatologists and Psychosexual Therapists.

To get YES on prescription, simply ask your GP. If your GP is already prescribing a different vaginal lubricant or moisturiser, you have the right to ask for an alternative product, as many of the substitute vaginal moisturisers contain ingredients that could irritate sensitive vaginal and vulval tissue.
